Third tarot card*, The Empress is the archetype of the woman in her solar period. Mature, beautiful, pregnant, and crowned: full in her earthly conquests. She is the Christian Madonna, the king’s wife or the hero’s mother, the primordial goddess of all matriarchal rites.
