Even if you never try to make a tarot reading, you probably have most Minor Arcana cards somewhere in your house. They are very common and part of many people’s leisure time.

Playing cards are very similar to minor arcana.

My grandma loved it! I used to play with her on weekends. I have to admit I am a great fan, too. Who never spends a rainy holiday playing cards? Am I sounding old-fashioned? Never mind.

Like Minor Arcana, a playing cards deck is divided into four suits: Wands, Pentacles, Cups, and Swords. However, while the first has 14 cards for any suit, the other has 13. The four cards missing are the Page of each suit.

The playing card deck and tarot share the Knight (Jack), Queen, and King, but tarot also has a Page. Therefore, there are only 52 playing cards, but 56 in the Minor Arcana.
