When you look at a tarot deck for the first time, it can be challenging. A complex union of symbols, numbers, and graphics that only a sensitive person could understand. Someone special who receives interpretations directly from the sky. Or something like that.

While I wouldn’t take intuition from this equation, the idea of tarot readers with special powers can’t be far from the truth. Looking closer, you will see the pattern hiding below the surface. Tarot is a code!

Codes can be deciphered.

When it comes to tarot, an excellent way to start is to understand what differentiates the Major Arcana from the Minor Arcana. So, let’s do this!

Major Arcana: a Journey Through Human Life

The 22 more famous tarot cards are connected to humanity’s collective unconscious. This characteristic allows it to have universal use, independent of the consultants’ race, age, or religion.

Carl Jung, the famous psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology, believed each card embodies universal themes and symbols that resonate with human experiences, emotions, and psychological states. He saw tarot as a tool for accessing the unconscious mind.
